Trinity | National | SATH

Work continues with Trinity toward getting the Reinstatement Agreement signed. This has been delayed slightly because the College — rightfully so — wants to be certain we're taking the proper precautions to prevent further hazing incidents. The College is also under some pressure from an unexpected source: The Trinity Tripod, which has become a genuinely serious, independent, and aggressive campus news outlet. As a result, the College would like an announcement to run in the Tripod no later than the week students return to campus. That's good news for us.

Window Project

We expect to have a schedule for the project's start date and duration sometime next week. Many thanks to David Duncan for the extraordinary amount of time he's put into this effort. More updates to follow.

Ogilby

Like many of you, I'd love to see Ogilby Hall up and running again so we can carry forward the traditions and experiences so many of us built around it. David Duncan is deeply involved in this effort as well! He and I have discussed the building's current issues, the work required to bring it up to code, and Trinity's interest in rehabilitating it. Once the scope of the project is defined, it will need meaningful support from the Alumni to get it done. Alongside the reopening of Epsilon, this remains one of our top priorities.

Committees

A number of alumni have offered their time to join committees, and we're extremely grateful to all of them. We want to activate these as soon as possible.

SATH Board

We're still working to fill the two vacancies left by Amber and Talbot. Our intent isn't simply to add "anyone" to the Board — we want to fill these seats with the specific skills we need. This matters because our structure calls for two Directors per committee, so even with eight Directors, we'll be stretched thin.

With that in mind, we plan to raise the question of Board expansion at the November Annual Meeting; any such change requires a vote by all members in good standing. So in the next week or ten days, I will be sending out a solicitation for Board candidate nominations. Ideally, we'll have a formal candidate list — including each nominee's relevant skills — ready before the Annual Meeting, so members can make the best-informed choices. All of this, of course, depends on alumni voting to approve the Board expansion.

Members in Good Standing (MIGS)

I know this has been a topic of discussion among brothers, with mixed reactions, so it's worth clarifying. Under the bylaws, a Member in Good Standing must pay dues by December 31 of the prior year to be eligible to vote the following year. So, anyone who paid dues in 2025 will be eligible to vote at the 2026 Annual Meeting. This requirement itself isn't new — the only change in the current bylaws is that the deadline moved from September to December, to align with our fiscal calendar.
